PACIA National Conference 2010
The PACIA National Conference is the highlight industry event of the year for the chemicals and plastics industry in Australia. The 2010 PACIA National Conference was held at the Amora Jamison, Sydney, on the 8th, 9th and 10th of June.
The conference focussed on providing the chemicals and plastics industry and their supply chain partners, governments and other stakeholders with special access to expert speakers and analysis in light of challenges posed by global climate change, changing markets and complex regulatory environments.
A forward looking conference, providing a leadership forum for our industry to better position for a more prosperous and sustainable future driven by innovation.
Conference Highlight
PACIA was delighted to welcome Dennis Shanahan to deliver a keynote address at the National Conference 2010 in a special session titled Federal Election 2010: Politics, Policy and Polling Day.
| Dennis Shanahan is the Political Editor of The Australian newspaper based in the Canberra Press Gallery. He has been the political editor for 11 years and before that was The Australian's Canberra Bureau Chief for ten years. Dennis shared his insights and observations regarding the key issues facing Australian industry in the current political landscape and what he sees as the drivers and challenges confronting the major political players in this federal election year. |
Who attended?
The PACIA National Conference was attended by Chief Executives, senior managers and other representatives from Australian and multinational chemicals and plastics companies. Participants from government, media and non-government groups were also welcomed.
Session themes include: the economy, regulatory reform, sustainability leadership, innovation solutions, consumer, cultural and demographic trends and connecting to markets through Sustainability.

Conference Dinner
The PACIA National Conference Dinner was a tremendous success, held at the magnificent Queen Victoria Building (QVB) Tea Room in the heart of Sydney on the evening of Day 2, Wednesday 9th June 2010.
Award winning unusualist Raymond Crowe provided the after dinner entertainment.
